This vintage blanket box is made of a combination of solid and veneered oak which is typical of an item from this era. The chest has been painted using the colour Oasis from Silk Mineral Paint which is a durable mineral paint. The two front panels have been decoupaged with a botanical style paper which compliment the rich toned chest. Dark wax has been used to add subtle shading around the panelled detail to give depth and dimension. The interior has been cleaned and treated with a scented furniture salve to nourish the original wood finish and add lustre. This is a very spacious chest, perfect for storing blankets or bed linen.
