This vintage blanket box which is made from a combination of solid and veneered wood has been painted using a paint wash effect in an eco friendly clay paint in the shade ‘Blue Agave’. The original finish was sanded prior to painting to allow some of the natural wood to appear through the paint. Two floral panels have been added to the front using decoupage technique and then the entire chest has been sealed using a durable varnish. The back has also been painted to match. Black wax has been added to add shading and drama. The interior lid has been painted in a soft pink and the rest has been cleaned and treated with scented furniture wax. The dimensions are 77cm wide, 47cm deep, 55cm high.
